Sue Palmer Author of Toxic Childhood
'Dadshouse is a charity I stumbled across by accident after I'd written an article in FQ Magazine about dads and their kids. The Founder William McGranaghan contacted me and told me of the charity he has launched.
What's great about Dadshouse is that they deal with the practicalities of being a single dad. It does not matter if you have the kids full time.Or an hour or a weekend.
Dadshouse has cooking classes so dads and their kids can cook together, socialise and have fun.As well as learning to cook healthy food
They also provide life coaching for single dads who need a little guidance. That could be anything from wanting a better relationship with their children or ex-partners to feeling better about themselves and deciding what they would like their next step to be.
There's also football three nights a week for dads to socialise, swap stories and enjoy being lads as well as dads.
Dadshouse is a new concept, full of new ideas ... the latest one being to open the UK first day centre with accommodation for single dads. It's the sort of real, relationship-based project we need to sort out the tangled web of 21st century parenthood, and to 'detoxify' the lives of the next generation.'
